They were used in Sweden for VIPs/Ambassadors/at embassies. Rare cars. Some people do their own conversions now.

Another quite interesting fact is that many 264 TE models were sold to DDR. According to some source majority of the production went there. They weren't sold to public in DDR but government needed some luxury vehicles but they didn't want any West-Germany or US products.
